Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly during his official visit to Cairo, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. Invited by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti, Georgiev emphasized Egypt's strategic role as Bulgaria’s top trading partner in the Middle East and Africa, CE Report quotes BTA

Both sides expressed a commitment to expand cooperation in key sectors including economy, energy, security, tourism, and technology. Plans include forming a joint economic commission in late 2025 and launching a Bulgarian-Egyptian business council.

The talks also highlighted preparations for the 100th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2026, viewed as a key moment to deepen political and economic collaboration.
