The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Board of Directors have approved a new Country strategy for North Macedonia over the next five years (2025-2030), CE Report quotes MIA.

The strategic priorities in the country are: Strengthening regional integration through connectivity and enhanced value chain linkages, Accelerating the transition to a green and sustainable future, and Supporting a more competitive, inclusive, and well-governed economy, the EBRD Office in Skopje said in a press release on Wednesday.

Fatih Türkmenoğlu, EBRD country Head for North Macedonia, said the new Strategy sets out a clear and ambitious vision for the next five years, focused on deepening regional integration, accelerating the green transition, and building a more competitive, inclusive, and well-governed economy.

"By investing in resilient infrastructure and supporting value chain development, we aim to help the country strengthen its role in the regional economy. At the same time, our commitment to decarbonisation and sustainable public services will support the country’s path toward a greener future. Crucially, we will continue to promote private sector growth, demographic decline, improve governance, and foster economic inclusion - especially for women, youth, and underrepresented groups. With strong local partnerships and a shared reform agenda, I am confident that North Macedonia is well-positioned to unlock its full potential and achieve even more dynamic and inclusive growth in the years ahead," said Türkmenoğlu.

The EBRD is the leading institutional investor in North Macedonia and has invested more than €2.9 billion in 198 projects.
