Greece Sees Negative Inflation on Food and Essentials

The Greek Development Ministry announced on Monday that inflation on food and basic living goods was negative between February 2024 and February 2025, citing data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

According to ELSTAT, inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages stood at 0.2%, while overall annual inflation reached 2.5%. Specifically, food prices saw a slight deflation of -0.1%, with cleaning products dropping by 5.6% and personal hygiene products by 2.2%.

This trend indicates a relative easing in the cost of essential goods despite broader inflationary pressures.
