The deadline for bids in the international tender to build two high-efficiency heating power plants (CET) in Chisinau has been extended to 21 February at the request of bidders, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The new CETs will have a combined electrical capacity of 55 MW and a thermal output of 43 Gcal/h, replacing the outdated CET-1 facility, commissioned in 1951. Unlike its predecessor, the new plants will operate year-round.

The project involves constructing modern installations with advanced, flexible cogeneration technologies, enhancing domestic power production and bolstering energy security.

With an estimated cost of €81 million, the plants are expected to be operational within two years of contract commencement. The initiative, approved by the government in 2023, marks a significant step toward energy modernization.
