As of December 2023, Romania's public debt (government debt) amounted to RON 782.166 billion, up from RON 769.907 billion in the previous month, shows data released by the Finance Ministry, CE Report quotes Agerpres

The government debt-to-GDP ratio dipped to 48.9 percent from 49.7 percent at the end of November 2023 (the GDP as announced by the National Institute of Statistics on March 8, 2024, and January 12, 2024, respectively).
