Bulgaria Resubmits €653M Recovery Plan Request
Bulgaria has resubmitted its second payment request under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), seeking €653 million, the Finance Ministry announced Thursday. The request, initially withdrawn in April due to incomplete measures, now includes 59 completed milestones—20 of them legislative, CE Report quotes BTA
This is the most reform-intensive request to date, involving amendments to 15 laws and the adoption of three new ones. Key reforms include electricity market liberalization, renewable energy support, whistleblower protection, anti-corruption measures, insolvency improvements, and stricter procurement rules.
The investment component targets SME digitalization, energy-efficient building renovations, modern street lighting, and household renewable energy projects.
The European Commission will review the request within two months.
