Ukraine's HUR confirms successful long-range drone strike on Russian facility

War in Ukraine

The fighters of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) successfully struck the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan using long-range drones.

HUR announced this on its official Facebook page, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

The operation took place on November 6. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out in the plant's workshop producing agidol – an additive for jet fuel.

The intelligence agency said that the Sterlitamak plant is a key enterprise in Russia's petrochemical industry. The plant manufactures products for the Russian military and defense industry, including ionol, aviation gasoline, and synthetic polymers.

On the night of November 4-5, Ukrainian forces struck a Shahed drone storage, assembly, and launch base in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, as well as the Volgograd oil refinery.
