Zelenskyy: Tech Advances Key to National Security

War in Ukraine

At the Global Security Forum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that no nation can afford to lag in defense technology. He highlighted Ukraine’s recent “Spiderweb” drone operation, which targeted Russian strategic bombers at remote airfields using low-cost drones—a tactic he called “completely legitimate.”

Zelenskyy emphasized how warfare has changed and urged European countries to boost drone production. Ukraine plans a 40% increase in domestic output but needs more funding, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

He praised Czechia’s ammunition aid and urged stricter sanctions on Russian oil exports, suggesting a $30-per-barrel cap could pressure Moscow toward peace.

Zelenskyy also called for stronger support for Ukraine, Moldova, and Balkan countries in joining the EU and NATO, stressing that unity and respect for human life are essential to lasting security.
