Mikhail Shatsky, Deputy Chief Designer at the Mars Design Bureau and head of the software department, has been liquidated in Moscow. Shatsky was responsible for upgrading Kh-59 cruise missiles to the Kh-69 level and developing new UAVs.

This information was confirmed to Ukrinform by Ukrainian intelligence services.

"The information about Shatsky's liquidation is true," a source stated.

According to Ukrinform's sources, Shatsky was liquidated in the Kuzminsky Forest Park near Kotelniki, located in the Moscow suburbs.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR) may be linked to his liquidation.

Shatsky specialized in modernizing Kh-59 cruise missiles to Kh-69 and was considered a key proponent of integrating artificial intelligence into UAVs and other aerial and space devices in Russia.

The Mars Design Bureau is a Russian developer of onboard automatic control and navigation systems for aviation and space vehicles. Since December 2017, it has been under the jurisdiction of the state corporation Rosatom. Previously, it was subordinate to Roscosmos.
