In a groundbreaking study conducted by the Warsaw Parks and Gardens Department, the capital has witnessed a remarkable surge in its bat population. CE Report quoting The First News

The comprehensive survey, the first of its kind, reveals intriguing shifts in bat behaviour, with some migratory species opting to make Warsaw their permanent home instead of migrating.

Warsaw Parks and Gardens staff said: "In July and August 2023, 479 bats of nine species were caught. The number of these mammals in the capital surprised chiropterologists.
