Real Madrid considers exit from EuroLeague to join NBA Europe
Real Madrid is planning to leave the EuroLeague in basketball and join NBA Europe.
The information was published exclusively by the Madrid-based sports newspaper AS, citing club sources, CE Report quotes MIA.
Nothing has been officially announced yet, but AS reports that the two sides are close to an agreement, as the “royal club” is determined to accept the offer from NBA Europe.
“Talks with the NBA have progressed, although the agreement has not yet been signed. The dialogue is ongoing and things are moving toward a partnership that will change the landscape of basketball,” AS writes.
Real Madrid’s biggest rival, Barcelona, has signed a new ten-year contract with the EuroLeague, putting an end to speculation about leaving the elite competition.
