Basketball Milestone Just 2 Years After Joining FIBA

Kosovo’s basketball team, with a 75:69 win against Estonia, successfully passed the pre-qualifying phase for the FIBA Basketball World Cup “China 2019.”

The Dardanians were in a group with Estonia and North Macedonia, finishing second—behind Estonia and ahead of North Macedonia.

This was a major success, as it was the first time Kosovo participated in the World Cup pre-qualifiers and secured a place in the next qualification stage, which featured 32 countries.

Kosovo had only been accepted into FIBA two years earlier (in 2015), but with great dedication, the players delivered impressive performances and achieved very positive results.

The final pre-qualifier match against Estonia was filled with emotion and drama. Played in Prishtina in an extraordinary atmosphere, the game ended in a victory for the Dardanians, who were trailing in the first half but made a strong comeback in the second half to triumph and move forward.
