Moldova, Ireland discuss EU accession progress

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan held a telephone conversation with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, whose country assumed the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union earlier this month.

During the call, Tofan thanked Ireland for its strong support for Moldova's European integration and reaffirmed the government's commitment to continuing the reforms required for accession to the European Union, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The Moldovan prime minister noted that the country had recently opened Cluster 6 – "External Relations" in its EU accession negotiations and is determined to maintain the current pace of reforms so that all remaining negotiation clusters can be opened in the coming months.

The two leaders also agreed to continue their bilateral dialogue and exchange experience in areas of mutual interest.
