U.S. strikes more than 80 targets in Iran
The United States military struck more than 80 targets in Iran in retaliation for Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Central Command for the Middle East (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday, according to AFP.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said U.S. forces targeted Iranian air defense systems, command and surveillance networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 small boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps operating in and around the strategic waterway, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
"U.S. forces struck Iranian air defense systems, command and surveillance networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 small vessels of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz and its vicinity," the statement said.
Earlier, also in response to the attacks on the three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States announced it was revoking the licenses that had allowed exports of Iranian oil.
