Serbian president reveals details of phone conversation with Hungary’s Péter Magyar
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said he trusts the pragmatism of Hungary’s future Prime Minister Péter Magyar.
Vučić stressed that he is very satisfied with the way their phone conversation last night went on key issues for further improvement of overall Serbian-Hungarian relations, CE Report quotes MIA.
“The conversation went better than I expected. There were no unpleasant tones,” the Serbian president said.
“For me, this was a very important conversation. As a responsible person and statesman, I am very happy and satisfied with the tone that was established and the way we spoke… We both expressed a desire to continue close cooperation,” he emphasized.
When asked to comment on Hungary’s announcement of strengthening cooperation with Austria, Vučić said he does not see it as a “return of the empire.”
“I congratulated Péter Magyar on his election victory. We had an important, good and substantive conversation about key topics for further improving overall Serbian-Hungarian relations,” Vučić wrote on social media last night following the conversation with Magyar.
