Conspiracy theories spread among Trump supporters

Politics

In recent weeks, as criticism of Donald Trump from his own supporters has peaked over the war against Iran, a new conspiracy theory has gained traction within the MAGA world.

Some of his most fervent supporters claim that the tycoon staged the attempted assassination that took place in Butler Pennsylvania in 2024, and that he is now trying to cover it up, similar to what they allege happened with the files related to Jeffrey Epstein, CE Report quotes ANSA.

“I think it was all a setup,” said one of Trump’s strongest supporters, Tim Dillon, on his show last weekend.

Dillon even suggested that the American president should admit to organizing the attack “to show Americans how important it was to vote for him and how far he was willing to go for them.”

Some of these theories had already begun circulating months ago. In November, former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson began suggesting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation may have been involved in a cover-up of the shooting, claiming on X that “the Bureau lied” about certain details. In recent weeks, as Trump has become increasingly isolated, the theory has spread more widely across social media and right-wing podcasts.
