Australia revokes visa of British citizen over Nazi symbols

Politics

The Australian government has revoked the visa of a British citizen residing in the country on charges of displaying Nazi symbols.

The man, who lives in Queensland, now faces deportation, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Specifically, the 43-year-old allegedly used a social media account to post a swastika, promote pro-Nazi ideology, and incite violence against the Jewish community.

The man has been taken to an immigration detention center in Brisbane and is scheduled to appear in court in January.

As reported by CE Report, police are increasing their focus on the use of such symbols due to a recent rise in antisemitism and right-wing extremism, as seen in the Bondi Beach attack.

“He came here to hate, he cannot stay,” Interior Minister Tony Burke said.
