Politics

Moldova celebrated 30 years since joining the Council of Europe with an official ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event highlighted key achievements in strengthening democracy, the rule of law, and promoting European values, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi emphasized that the Council had helped Moldova develop democratic institutions and combat challenges such as violence against women, corruption, human trafficking, hate speech, and cybercrime.

“A partnership for democracy, freedom, and justice,” Popșoi said of the three-decade cooperation.

To mark the anniversary, a commemorative stamp was launched by Popșoi, Council of Europe representative Falk Lange, and Moldova Post interim head Violeta Cojocaru.

Moldova joined the Council of Europe on July 13, 1995.
