Greece's UN Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Greek Orthodox Church of Prophet Elias in Damascus. Speaking after a closed UN Security Council meeting initiated by Greece, he called the assault a "heinous attack" on peaceful worshippers and all Syrians, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia

Sekeris urged justice, reconciliation, and protection for Syria’s religious and ethnic communities, emphasizing that Christians have long been an integral part of the region. He stressed that safeguarding Syria’s religious and cultural diversity is essential for lasting peace and stability.
