
EU Backs Moldova’s EU Path
Speaker Igor Grosu hailed the European Council’s recent decision as an unprecedented recognition of Moldova’s progress toward EU accession. On Thursday, the leaders of all 27 EU member states reiterated their strong support for Moldova's European path and welcomed its reform efforts, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Grosu emphasized that this endorsement marks a major step forward, as the Council invited Moldova to begin the next phase of accession talks by opening the first group of negotiation chapters focused on fundamental values.
“Congratulations to all Moldovans, wherever we are. Let’s keep working with determination and be the generation that brings Moldova into the European family,” said Grosu.
President Maia Sandu also welcomed the decision, expressing appreciation for the EU’s recognition of Moldova’s reform achievements and reaffirming the country’s commitment to a European future.
