Greece Stresses Stability Amid US-Iran Escalation
The recent US strike on Iran’s underground nuclear sites marks a critical turning point in Middle East developments, Greece’s Environment & Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou said in an interview with ERT1 on Sunday, CE Report quotes Athens-Mcedonia
Papastavrou highlighted Greece’s role as a stabilizing force in the region, emphasizing its strong governance, modernized armed forces, and resilient energy infrastructure. "Greece maintains sincere relations with both the Arab world and Israel. Our diversified energy mix shields us, but global volatility will still have an impact," he noted.
Addressing Libya’s objections to Greek maritime zones, Papastavrou pointed out contradictions within Libya’s own policies. He noted that Libya’s oil tenders for blocs 10, 14, and 15 align with the same median line Greece uses—indirectly validating Greece’s stance and international legal norms.
