Pierrakakis in Luxembourg for EU Finance Talks

National Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis is traveling to Luxembourg to attend the Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia

On Thursday, eurozone finance ministers will review economic developments, competition barriers, and preparations for the digital euro. The selection process for the next Eurogroup president is also on the agenda.

Friday’s ECOFIN meeting will focus on simplifying EU customs procedures and ensuring efficient tax and duty collection. Ministers will also discuss reducing energy costs, financing European defence, and assessing the economic impact of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Other key topics include the European Semester Spring Package for 2025, updates to recovery plans for several EU countries, and Bulgaria’s upcoming euro adoption.

Pierrakakis will also join the annual board meetings of the European Stability Mechanism and European Investment Bank and hold talks with EU officials on the sidelines.
