Moldova Digitizes Elections Ahead of 2025 Vote

At the Moldova Digital Summit 2025, Central Electoral Commission (CEC) head Angelica Caraman announced major advances in election digitalization, positioning it as a strategic priority. The State Automated Information System (SIAS) Elections now includes over 15 integrated modules and supports more than 2,000 polling stations with real-time voter monitoring and fast result reporting, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Following cyberattacks in 2024, cybersecurity has been reinforced in collaboration with STISC. New tools introduced include postal voting systems, digital voter lists, and identification tech in crowded Diaspora stations.

Caraman emphasized the CEC’s commitment to transparent, tech-driven elections, ahead of the parliamentary vote scheduled for September 28, 2025.
