
Greece-US Relations Strengthen in Washington Meetings
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis held key meetings in Washington to strengthen bilateral ties between Greece and the U.S, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
On Wednesday, Gerapetritis met with Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Reese (R) and Democratic Leader Jean Shaheen. He also spoke with House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast (R) and Rep. Gregory Meeks (D). Discussions centered on Greece’s role as a strategic energy hub in the Eastern Mediterranean and its appeal as an investment destination.
The U.S. lawmakers were also briefed on Gerapetritis' recent Middle East tour, including his visit to Syria. His meetings continue Thursday with Senators Chris Van Hollen and Cory Booker from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
