During a working visit to Brussels, Moldovan President Maia Sandu met with António Costa, who recently assumed the role of President of the European Council on December 1, according to the presidential press service, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Costa reaffirmed the EU’s strong support for Moldova’s European integration and outlined key initiatives aimed at benefiting Moldovan citizens. These include the swift implementation of an EU-supported economic growth program, the conclusion of negotiations for Moldova’s accession to the Single Payment Area by 2025—eliminating fees for transactions with EU banks—and the complete removal of roaming charges.

"Together with António Costa and the European Union, we are on the right track. Moldova will continue to make progress and build a better future for all citizens," President Sandu stated.

This visit, held on December 10-11, marks Sandu’s first trip to Brussels following Moldova’s confirmation of its European path in a recent referendum.
