Romania's accession to the OECD is not only a goal by which we aim to meet certain standards, but also a political objective that all political forces must assume, declared prime minister Nicolae Ciuca, on Wednesday, at the launch event of the project to establish the National Council for Productivity in Romania, together with the director of the Economy Department of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Alvaro Santos Pereira. "Access to the OECD is a country goal similar to those aimed at our accession to the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union. As such, it is not only a goal by which we aim to meet certain standards and to make our country to be able to reach a level of recognition in order to be accepted into this elite club, but it is also a political objective that all political forces must assume, because it is about Romania, and through everything we have done and everything we will have to do from here on, we deserve to be part of this organization," Nicolae Ciuca stated.

The prime minister emphasized that the reforms related to the OECD accession process, reforms that society, the Romanian citizens, have been waiting for for many years, are complementary to the commitments undertaken by our country through the PNRR.
