Strong winds disrupt ferry services across Greece
Ferries will remain docked in several areas across Greece on Friday, with winds of up to Force 9 on the Beaufort scale expected at sea, according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY).
A sailing ban until noon on Friday was imposed at the ports of Rafina and Lavrio, while sailings from the port of Piraeus were also suspended or modified, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
The four morning sailings from Piraeus were cancelled, with a reassessment to be made after 10:00, depending on how weather conditions develop.
In the Argosaronic Gulf, services were operating with conventional ferries, although not all scheduled hydrofoil services were running due to adverse weather conditions.
Passengers planning to travel on Friday should contact local port authorities and travel agencies before heading to the ports to check for any cancellations, delays or changes to departure schedules.
