Former England football star David Beckham will receive his own star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on June 12, coinciding with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced.

Actor Tom Cruise and Victoria Beckham, former member of the Spice Girls and Beckham’s wife, are expected to speak at the ceremony in Los Angeles, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

“Beckham’s role in growing soccer’s popularity in the United States and his lasting influence on sport, entertainment, and global culture make this honor especially meaningful,” said ceremony producer Ana Martinez.

The event will take place on the same day as the United States’ opening match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is being co-hosted by United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Knighted last year by Charles III, Beckham remains one of the most iconic figures in British football. He captained the England national team for six years and became a legend at Manchester United, helping the club win the UEFA Champions League in 1999.

During his club career, Beckham also played for Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 2013.

Now 51, Beckham is co-owner of Inter Miami CF, which signed Lionel Messi in 2023 and won the U.S. league title last year.

Beyond football, Beckham has built a successful career as a businessman, fashion icon, and media personality. In 2023, he was the subject of the acclaimed Netflix documentary series Beckham, produced by his own company, Studio 99.
