The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG consortium has released a comprehensive update on firm capacity allocations across its main interconnection points.

As of December 15, the firm capacity allocated at the Kipoi interconnection point — where TAP connects to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greek-Turkish border — reached 349,529,291 kilowatt-hours (kWh), CE Report informs.

TAP also published detailed forward capacity reservation data for the upcoming week, covering the period from to December 15 to December 21.

Reserved Forward Firm Capacities (kWh):

Kipoi Interconnection (Greece)

December 15: 349,529,291

December 16-21 (daily average): 348,019,866

Komotini Interconnection (Greece)

December 15-21 (daily average): 28,674,418

Nea Mesimvria Interconnection (Greece)

December 15-21 (daily average): 30,346,301

Melendugno Interconnection (Italy)

December 15-21 (daily average): 287,012,315

As a key component of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP transports natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea directly to European markets. Spanning 878 kilometers, the pipeline connects with TANAP at Kipoi, traverses Greece and Albania, crosses the Adriatic Sea, and reaches its endpoint in southern Italy.

TAP plays a crucial role in strengthening Europe’s energy security, enabling diversification of supply routes and reducing reliance on limited sources. With its scalable infrastructure, TAP is well-positioned to support Europe’s long-term energy resilience and energy transition objectives.

As reported by CE Report, TAP updated gas flow nominations at key European interconnection points.
