Martin Short mourns death of daughter Katherine

Canadian actor Martin Short has announced that his daughter, Katherine, “will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” following her death at the age of 42.

Katherine Short, a social worker, was the eldest of the three children he adopted with actress and singer Nancy Dolman, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“With deep sorrow, we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The family requests privacy at this time,” said his representative in a statement to BBC News.

According to U.S. media reports, her death is suspected to have been a suicide.

Short, known for his roles in Three Amigos, Father of the Bride, and Innerspace, has postponed several shows with his partner Steve Martin in Milwaukee and Minneapolis.

He has been nominated for best actor in a comedy series for his role in Only Murders in the Building. Nancy Dolman passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010.
