Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Radiohead urge UK to cap resale ticket prices
Famous music stars, including Dua Lipa and the bands Coldplay and Radiohead, have called on Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour government in an open letter.
They are urging the introduction of a cap on concert ticket prices resold on online platforms, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
“For far too long, certain platforms have allowed resellers to buy tickets in bulk and then sell them at outrageous prices,” the artists write, joining forces with consumer organizations and associations from the live entertainment sector.
This commercial practice “undermines trust in the live performance industry and jeopardizes the efforts of artists and organizers to keep their events affordable,” they continue.
According to them, introducing a ceiling on resale prices would “democratize public access” to these events.
