The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in Italian theaters on April 29, 2026, and in the U.S. on May 1, 2026 — the sequel to the hit film starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, centered on the ruthless editor of a fashion magazine famously inspired by Anna Wintour.

Hollywood’s release will precede the Met Gala — hosted by Wintour — scheduled for May 4, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The first short trailer was released today: set to Madonna’s “Vogue,” it shows Andy Sachs (Hathaway) entering an elevator after Miranda Priestley (Streep), who says, “Took you long enough” — a nod both to her imperious tone and to the 19-year wait for the sequel.

Little is known about the plot, which 20th Century Studios has kept tightly under wraps for months. One shot shows a blue carpet, another the flashes of photographers. What is known is that in this second chapter, directed again by David Frankel, Miranda Priestley remains at the helm of Runway magazine — this time facing the crisis of print media.

The cast also includes, for the first time, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Lady Gaga is also rumored to appear, having been spotted on set.
