Robbie Williams Istanbul concert canceled
Turkish authorities have canceled Robbie Williams’ concert scheduled in Istanbul on October 7, citing reasons of “public security,”CE Report quotes ANSA.
The singer announced the cancellation on Instagram, expressing that he was “deeply sorry” about the decision, which affected the final show of his tour.
“The last thing I would ever want is to put my fans’ safety at risk — their well-being comes first,” he wrote in a story.
“We were really looking forward to performing, but the decision to cancel the show is beyond our control,” he added.
The former Take That member, who is married to a Jewish woman, had previously performed in Israel despite calls from pro-Palestinian activists to boycott the country.
The cancellation comes after several NGOs urged Turkish authorities to ban the concert, while others had planned protests under the slogan:
“Robbie Williams the Zionist, get out of Türkiye!”
