Justin Timberlake diagnosed with Lyme disease
Justin Timberlake has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, according to AP, CE Report quotes ATA.
The singer shared the news in an Instagram post — reflecting on his “Forget Tomorrow” tour, which concluded yesterday in Türkiye — adding that “this disease wears you down both mentally and physically.”
The “SexyBack” singer, who described himself as a private person, wrote that he had considered ending the tour after receiving the diagnosis.
“But the joy I get from performing outweighs the stress my body feels. I’m really happy I continued the tour,” Timberlake said.
Lyme disease is transmitted by Ixodes ticks, also known as deer ticks.
It can cause flu-like symptoms, neurological issues, joint pain, and other complications.
In most cases, Lyme disease is successfully treated with antibiotics.
“Honestly, I don’t know what the future holds for me on stage, but I will always cherish this performance — and all the ones before. It’s been legendary for me,” Timberlake wrote.
Timberlake canceled and postponed several concerts during the tour, citing health issues including bronchitis and laryngitis.
Six of his U.S. tour dates scheduled for October and November were postponed to February.
He also canceled the final concert of the tour in Ohio due to the flu in February.
The 10-time Grammy Award winner ended his post by thanking his wife, Jessica Biel, and their two sons, Silas and Phin, saying: “Nothing is more powerful than your unconditional love. You are my heart and my home.”
