President Maia Sandu visited southern Moldova today, inspecting major infrastructure projects aimed at boosting connectivity and energy independence. She reviewed construction work on the Vulcănești bypass road, which is expected to reduce traffic and provide a direct link to the Giurgiulești port, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Sandu also visited the site of the Vulcănești–Chișinău power line, calling it a vital step toward strengthening Moldova’s energy security and ending reliance on external sources.

In Gagauzia, the President highlighted ongoing investments in community development, noting that 30 projects worth 150 million lei have been funded to improve water access, sewage systems, and street lighting. She cited examples such as solar panel installations in Beșalma and Cotovscoe, and renovations in Cazaclia and Etulia.

During her visit, Sandu met with winery workers to discuss the wine sector’s growth and reaffirmed her commitment to improving conditions in both urban and rural areas.
