Romania's annual inflation rate climbed to 5.11% in November 2024, up from 4.67% in October, driven by price increases in food (5.11%), non-food goods (5.15%), and services (7.56%), according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), CE Report quotes Agerpres

The consumer price index rose by 0.41% compared to October, while year-to-date inflation reached 4.8%. Over the last 12 months, the average inflation rate stood at 5.7%. Using the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), annual inflation for November was calculated at 5.4%, with a 12-month average of 6%.

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) recently revised its year-end inflation forecast to 4.9%, up from 4%, and predicts a decline to 3.5% by the end of 2025, according to Governor Mugur Isărescu.
