Bulgaria Wins 4 Medals at Physics Olympiad in Paris

Bulgaria’s top high school physics students earned four bronze medals and one honourable mention at the 55th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), held in Paris from July 17–25. Over 400 students from 85 countries took part in the prestigious global competition, CE Report quotes BTA

The medal winners are Hristo Hristov (Sofia), Iliya Nikov (Veliko Tarnovo), Alexander Nikolov (Sofia), and Svetoslav Arabov (Varna). Peter Petrov (Varna) received an honourable mention. The team was led by Prof. Dr. Miroslav Abrashev and Associate Prof. Dr. Neno Todorov of Sofia University.

The Olympiad included both experimental and theoretical challenges. Bulgaria, a founding country of the IPhO in 1967, has taken part in every edition, winning a total of 150 medals to date.
