Zelensky: Ukrainian Pilots to Train on F-16s in Czech Republic

Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that one of the key outcomes of his visit to the Czech Republic is the detailing of a project to establish a Ukrainian-Czech F-16 training school.

The head of the Ukrainian state said this during a joint press conference in Prague with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

“We appreciate the Czech Republic’s willingness to assist in developing our military aviation. One of the results of this visit is the detailing of the project to create a Ukrainian-Czech F-16 school, and we are prepared to implement it as soon as possible,” Zelensky stated.

Fiala confirmed that Ukrainian pilots will be trained on both F-16 and F-39 aircraft in the Czech Republic.

“We have agreed, together with partners from the ‘coalition of the willing,’ to train Ukrainian pilots. The training will take place on F-16 and F-39 aircraft at bases in the Czech Republic,” Fiala added.

As reported, yesterday, during a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the creation of a Ukrainian-Czech F-16 school as part of the aviation coalition.
