Türkiye launches anti-drug raids across 75 provinces
Turkish security forces carried out large-scale anti-drug operations in 75 of Turkiye's 81 provinces, state broadcaster TRT Haber said on Saturday, citing an Interior Ministry statement.
Officers seized 958.77 kg of drugs and 1.5 million drug tablets. Detention orders were issued for 1,297 suspects, of whom 714 were remanded in custody and another 179 placed under judicial supervision, CE Report quotes BTA.
Local public prosecutors' offices coordinated the operations, which were carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Department of the General Directorate of Security in Ankara and provincial police departments. A total of 4,863 police officers, 18 helicopters and 45 trained dogs were deployed.
