Albania’s Berat wows tourists with castle courtyard delights

Travel

Albania's Berat continues to be one of the main destinations visited by thousands of tourists throughout all seasons of the year.

The influx of foreign tourists in the UNESCO-protected city has also diversified the tourism package, bringing innovations in services as well, CE Report quotes ATA.

One such example is a guesthouse nestled in the cobbled alleys of the Berat Castle, which invites tourists in a unique way:

"Just ring the bell and your glass of wine is ready."

Prime Minister Edi Rama today shared a moment where two foreign tourists are served by this guesthouse through a window. "The tastiest window in Berat, the city of windows upon windows," said Rama alongside the footage.

Due to its rare history, culture, and architecture, Berat is part of the world heritage and is protected by UNESCO.

Across the entire Berat region, there are around 486 cultural monuments, which has had a tremendous impact — especially in the recent years — in increasing the flow of cultural tourism.
