
Bulgarian Travel Abroad Rises
In March 2025, 739,500 Bulgarians traveled abroad—an 8.9% increase compared to March 2024, according to the National Statistical Institute. Travel rose across all purposes, with nearly half (49.9%) of trips for "other purposes," 32.5% for holidays, and 17.6% for business, CE Report quotes BTA
Top destinations included Turkiye (212,200), Greece (131,800), and Romania (79,700).
Meanwhile, 767,700 foreign nationals visited Bulgaria, up 1.5% year-on-year. Most visitors were from the EU (54.1%), especially Romania and Greece. Holiday-related visits rose by 4.5%, while business trips declined by 4.7%. Transit visits made up 32.4% of all entries.
