Israel reports threefold rise in Iranian cyberattacks in June

Iranian cyberattacks against Israel have tripled following the US-Israeli military offensive against Iran, according to Israel's National Cyber Directorate, reports DPA.

In an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt, the head of the directorate, Yossi Karadi, said Israeli authorities recorded around 4,800 hostile cyber incidents in June 2026, compared with approximately 1,600 incidents during Israel's military operations in June 2025, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

"Some groups are highly skilled. We can manage them, but we must take them seriously. Unlike the kinetic domain, there is no ceasefire in cyberspace," Karadi said.

According to him, the attacks targeted systems supporting critical infrastructure, government institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the general public.

"So far, we have successfully prevented attacks on critical infrastructure, and we hope this remains the case," he added.

Iran has consistently denied allegations that it is involved in cyberattacks against other countries, while also reporting that it has itself been the target of cyberattacks.
