The summer transfer window has closed in Europe’s five major football leagues: the English Premier League, Spain’s LaLiga, Italy’s Serie A, Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1.

Five of the six players for whom the highest transfer fees were paid in Europe this summer joined Premier League clubs, while one moved to LaLiga.
Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández topped the list of the summer’s most expensive transfers after moving from Chelsea to Manchester City for €145 million.
English midfielder Morgan Rogers ranked second after transferring from Aston Villa to Chelsea for €138 million.
English midfielder Elliot Anderson moved from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for €135 million, placing third on the list.
French left winger Bradley Barcola moved from PSG to Liverpool for €125 million, making him the fourth-most expensive transfer of the summer.
Real Madrid signed 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from German club Leipzig for €125 million, making him the fifth-most expensive transfer of the summer.
Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, 26, moved from Newcastle United to Tottenham for €108 million, placing sixth.
Fernández, Rogers and Anderson, the three most expensive transfers of the summer, also entered the top 10 most expensive transfers in football history.
