Sinner, Sabalenka, Djokovic headline Wimbledon opening day

The third Grand Slam tournament of the year, Wimbledon, will get underway at noon on the grass courts of the All England Club.

Slovenia's only representative in the main draw, Veronika Erjavec, will not be in action on the opening day, CE Report quotes STA.

Among those taking to the court, however, will be the top seeds, Italy's Jannik Sinner and Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka.

Serbia's Novak Djokovic will also begin his quest for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title today. In the opening round, he will face China's Wu Yibing.

Jannik Sinner, who needs only a Wimbledon title to complete his collection of Grand Slam trophies, will open his campaign against Serbia's Miomir Kecmanović. Aryna Sabalenka, who has yet to reach a Wimbledon final, will take on Serbia's Teodora Kostović in the first round.
