Moldovan long-distance runner Maxim Răileanu won the Patras Half Marathon, setting a new course record and finishing first.

The competition took place in Patras, where the Moldovan athlete completed the race in 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 10 seconds, improving the previous course record by 11 seconds, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

Răileanu’s personal best in the half marathon remains 1:03:09, set in 2022 at the race in Boulogne-Billancourt.

Earlier, on March 1, he finished second at the Diecimila della Bilancia in Campogalliano, completing the 10 km distance in 29 minutes and 23 seconds.

Maxim Răileanu is a candidate for the Moldova Olympic team in the marathon event, and his recent results position him well for major competitions this year and the current Olympic cycle.
