Golden Shoe battle hotter than ever
The race for the European Golden Shoe remains hotter than ever, with Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé still neck and neck at the top of the standings.
The Bayern Munich striker and the Real Madrid star both lead with 44 points, thanks to 22 goals each in their respective leagues. Behind them is Erling Haaland in third place with 40 points, keeping the battle for the podium wide open. Notably, Mallorca’s “Pirate” Vedat Muriqi features in the top five, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
In this updated ranking, attention in Serie A turns to Lautaro Martínez, who has scored again and taken an important step forward. The Inter captain and the Italian league’s top scorer is currently ranked 13th with 13 goals and 26 points, firmly entering the radar for a top-five finish, TCH reports.
It should be recalled that the Golden Shoe points system is based on the number of goals scored multiplied by the UEFA coefficient of the respective league. Goals scored in leagues ranked from first to fifth (England, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France) are worth two points, while those in leagues ranked from sixth to 22nd are worth 1.5 points. All other leagues have a coefficient of one.
