Kosovo will continue to be an important hub of international handball throughout 2026. This month, Pristina will host the Mediterranean Championship for U16 women’s handball teams, with the participation of 12 national teams.

Meanwhile, the European Handball Federation (EHF) has confirmed that in July 2026, Kosovo will host two European Championships for men’s handball players under the age of 20. The Men’s 20 EHF Championships will take place from July 12 to 19 in Pristina, featuring 13 national teams, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The decision was approved by the EHF Executive Committee during its meeting in Herning, Denmark. The Handball Federation of Kosovo (FHK) has built a strong and reliable partnership with the EHF and has received high praise for organizing major international events. Previous tournaments have been awarded top marks not only by the EHF, but also by the national federations of the participating teams.
