Slovenian athlete wins 60m hurdles World Indoor Tour in Poland
Slovenian athlete Nika Glojnarič (Brežice) won the 60 m hurdles at the Silver meeting of the World Indoor Tour in Łódź, Poland, with a new personal best of 8.03 seconds.
Slovenia’s top high hurdler in recent years had already run 8.07 in the heats, and improved further in the final, lowering her personal record by one hundredth of a second with a time of 8.03, the Slovenian Athletics Federation reported.
Second place went to local athlete Alicja Sielska, who finished just one hundredth of a second behind Glojnarič.
“I am satisfied with my performance, although I missed the qualifying standard for the World Championships by one hundredth of a second. But I’m happy that I ran another personal best. I’m improving from race to race and I believe that the missing hundredth will come as well. The start wasn’t the best, but I know what I need to fix. So I’m really looking forward to the next race, which will be next weekend in Glasgow,” Glojnarič said.
Less than a week ago in Tampere, Finland, she equaled her personal best of 8.04 to finish third, a record she had set earlier this month in Maribor.
