Bulgarian city Burgas to receive funding for major sporting events
The Bulgarian Sports Totalizator will provide €25,564.59 (50,000 leva) to support the organization of sports events in Burgas throughout the year, the Municipality’s press center announced.
The funds will be used to host several major sporting events, as well as the “Athlete of the Year” ceremony, which will receive financial support of €5,128.92 (10,000 leva). Among the initiatives to be funded is the next edition of the Burgas athletics marathon, CE Report quotes BTA.
The information was announced after a partnership agreement was signed in Burgas by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and the Executive Director of the State Enterprise “Bulgarian Sports Totalizator,” Lyubomir Petrov.
Petrov said the agreement is part of the Totalizator’s strategy to support cities that actively develop sports and host numerous sporting events.
The meeting also discussed the future expansion of the Sports Totalizator’s presence through new outlets and the introduction of modern self-service machines at major sports venues. From 2025, the Totalizator will be the general partner of Arena Toto Beach Burgas and the national beach volleyball festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
As reported by CE Report, the signing was also attended by the regional director of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator, Zlatko Zlatanov.
