Third straight ABA league win for Romanian champions

U-BT Cluj-Napoca defeated the Montenegrin team SC Derby Podgorica 96–85 (29–17, 15–24, 24–19, 28–25) at the BTarena, in a Group A match of the men’s ABA League basketball competition.

The Romanian champions secured their third consecutive victory in the Adriatic League and moved up to second place in the standings, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

“U” led from start to finish, winning comfortably.

Iverson Molinar Jones scored 26 points and provided 5 assists, Daron Russell stood out with 23 points and 3 rebounds, Dušan Miletic recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Karel Guzman added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Mitchell Creek contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds.

As reported by CE Report, for the visitors, notable performances came from Aleksa Ilić with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Nikola Pavličević with 14 points, Darius Johnson with 12 points and 4 assists, Jyare Davis with 11 points, and Mateo Drežnjak with 11 points and 3 assists.

“U” will play its fifth consecutive home game on January 3 against FMP Belgrade. The top four teams qualify for the Top 8.
